- Winston-Salem, NC - Melton Technologies, Inc. (MTI), based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, proudly announces reaching its silver anniversary milestone. Founded by Chuck Melton in February, 1984 as Integrated Transportation Software (ITS), the company quickly won favor with carriers and private fleets alike for its ground-breaking use of Personal Computer (PC) technology. Fleets rapidly learned to appreciate Chuck's approach to making everyday tasks quicker and easier to perform.
Chuck Melton Notes:
"I can hardly believe that we are now 25 years into helping our customers become and stay more profitable. It is humbling to look back and see some of the long lasting customer relationships that we started back in 1984. That many of these folks are still with us drives MTI today to continue to invest in new products and services that help our customers navigate these uncertain times in 2009. I would like to dedicate this anniversary to our professional associates who are instrumental in our success and to our customers without whom we would not be here today - and tomorrow."

MTI Short History
The foundation of Melton Technologies has always been about making it easier for trucking companies to embrace new technology and improve the bottom line. Chuck Melton, who worked with Pilot Freight Carriers in the late 70s and early 80s, saw deregulation as one of the key milestones that would allow smaller companies to compete with larger ones, provided they had the right technology. ITS was one of the first PC-based trucking software companies to offer integration to the then-new satellite tracking offerings of QUALCOMM, offering its QTRACS and Circle of Service products for automating Dispatch. In 1994, the company was bought by Qualcomm, Inc. and managed by their OmniTracs division. In May 1997, Melton reacquired the company, products and key personnel under the MTI banner.
